Texas Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and every other poker variant can be played with two players. In Texas Hold’em, the dealer button is always with the player in the small blind. Heads-up play marks the only form of Texas Hold’em where the small blind is “in position” against the big blind.

Playing the game is really quite simple. 2-Card Poker is played with a standard deck of 52-cards. No jokers or wildcards are used. Players are required to make an ante wager before seeing any cards. Once the bet is placed the dealer will deal four cards to each player and themselves.
In such a case, the tied players split the pot. Note that if two hands contain the same high pair, then the ranking of the next card in the hands determines which one wins. For example: 9, 9, 7, 4, 2 beats 9, 9, 5, 3, 2. Likewise, two hands that have identical pairs would be decided by the fifth card.
The first round begins with each player getting two hole cards, which are dealt face down and are only seen by the player holding them until the end of the hand. When each player receives their two hole cards, the pre-flop betting round begins. After that, the dealer puts the first three of five community cards on the table.
Players then assess the relative strength of their hands and wager chips accordingly. The player who bids the most chips wins unless someone else is willing to match the player’s bet. In that scenario, the two (or more) players remaining will show their cards. The best hand wins all the chips.
